Different types of industrial floor cleaning machines

Industrial floor cleaning equipment have undergone a massive overhaul in the recent past, thanks to the advancements in the technology. These machines have become user friendly and energy efficient, thus making them suitable for regular use. There are two main types of floor cleaning machines. They are-
·         Ride on scrubbers: These scrubbers are built for larger and tougher cleaning jobs. They have a seating arrangement over the large scrubbing mechanism, which allows you to ride the scrubber, making it easy to clean large facilities with relative ease. These scrubbers are free from electrical cords, however, they operate on batteries or fuel engines. These machines are extremely nimble and can be used to clean efficiently.
·         Walk behind scrubbers: These are the most commonly used scrubbers, and are used extensively for commercial and domestic purposes. They have smaller scrubbing./ cleaning units attached to a handle which is used to manoeuvre the scrubbers. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and are traditionally used to clean smaller areas. These machines are usually operated by electricity and consume less power as well. Owing to their small size, they can be easily used to clean nooks and crannies of the facility with ease.

Clean your tiles like a pro

Most people do not clean their floor and wall tiles in the right manner. Dust and grime can easily accumulate on your floor over time and it can lead to spreading of germs to the people living in your home. Here are a few tips to help you clean your tiles like a professional.
  • Make sure to sweep the floor after the dusting has been done. This is important since dusting your furniture and your walls will lead to dust settling on the floor. All this dirt will be pushed around the floor only to be accumulated at the corners. Thus, it is best to sweep the floor after other cleaning.
  • Never mop your tiles without sweeping. And, when you do mop, make sure to soak up excess water of the tiles. This will ensure that there are no streaks and wet spots that will stain the tiles.
  • When you clean your tiles, make sure to let it dry completely before you walk on it again. Walking on moist tiles will leave stains of your feet on the floor, making it look ugly and rendering your cleaning obsolete.

Getting oil out of the carpet

Spillage on carpets is common in households that have kids and pets. Sometimes, even careful adults might spill liquids on to the carpets.  Although it is not the end of the world, one should take careful considerations when you spill something on the carpet. Instantly cleaning it up is recommended to make sure that it does not leave a permanent stain. Oil and grease are some of the rarest stains on the carpet. However, if you do get oil on your carpet you need to take the following precautions and cleaning measures to clean your carpet.
·         Blot the stained areas as soon as possible in order to blot up as much oil as possible. Use an absorbent towel or paper tissues to suck up the oil.
·         Next, you can coat it with corn starch or baking soda to absorb the residue oils. Let it sit for up to 24 hours. Use a generous heap of powder, and thoroughly vacuum up the powders.
·         If the oils still prevail, you can use dish wash soap to degrease the carpet. Dish wash soap are designed to fight greasy stains, so using it can help remove oil spills easily. Add the detergent on the stain, and let a blotting paper sit over the stain for about a day before cleaning up with a little bit of water.

Giving your floor a shiny look

Once you have your floors cleaned and scrubbed, especially in commercial establishments, the next logical step is to buff the floors to give it a shiny feel. Here are a few steps you can take to enhance the shininess of the floors- be it ceramic tiles, parquet floors or even polished concrete, these tips will help enhance how good your floors will look.
The first step is to choose the right floor wax. Not all wax is the same and it pays to know how to choose the right kind of wax that suits your floor type. Not all wax is the same, and not all “good” wax suits all types of floors. If you are unsure of what you need, ask an expert.
In order to ensure an even shine, make sure to de-clutter your floor. This means removing any furniture and rugs that may obstruct the buffing process. If you are in a facility with constant foot traffic, such as a hospital or a bank, it is best to close down the floor temporarily. This will make sure that you give your floor the due attention it requires.
Using the right equipment is also necessary. Using improper equipment, however costly/ recommended it is will only result in substandard work. Have experts who know what they are doing handle these for you, which will ensure an optimal shining solution.

Cleaning marble and granite floors

Marble and granite floors are known for their high maintenance and upkeep values. Although they are extremely strong and sturdy, the easily tend to lose their lustre and sheen within a few years. Hence proper floor care is essential when dealing with marble and granite flooring.
This does not mean that you have to splurge on professional grade, expensive cleaning products and specialized cleaning equipment, although that is recommended once in a while, just to bring back the original look of the marble floors.
Marbles and granites are quite porous, hence it is recommended that you clean up any spillage immediately in order to avoid staining. This alone will help keep your floor from losing its sheen.
The simplest way to care for your marble flooring is to use clean water, mild detergent and a soft cloth to clean the floor with hand. Vacuuming the floor is recommended, as it removes any sharp object such as sand granules and dust particles. Once the floor is dry cleaned, use the soft cloth/ mop to clean the floor with warm soapy water. Ensure that the detergent is free of dyes, as it can stain the floor easily. Squeeze the soap water and mop the floor once more with fresh water.
